About The Position

OKX is seeking a creative, driven Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to build and operate infrastructure that improves platform stability, scalability, safety, health, and uptime. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team develops tools and infrastructure that help detect production failures early and reduce the operational burden of maintaining distributed systems, allowing development teams to focus on product features. The role is responsible for maintaining and configuring AWS services and environments, researching and implementing AWS-based solutions, and supporting big data and machine-learning platforms. It owns the Databricks-on-AWS platform end to end, including provisioning and configuration managed as code, and works to optimize platform cost, performance, and job reliability. The engineer also automates infrastructure through Terraform and CI/CD, responds to production database issues and service alerts, and collaborates with development teams on feature deployment. The role includes building internal platforms and tooling and supporting unified management across AWS, Alibaba Cloud, and other providers.

  • Over 6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, DBA, or related positions.
  • Proficiency in AWS distributed management, large-scale clustering, fault tolerance, backup, and load balancing.
  • Deep understanding of high-availability architecture and capacity planning, with experience handling complex problems.
  • Strong Linux operations, maintenance, and debugging capabilities, including troubleshooting, configuration tuning, and performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration and management.
  • Familiarity with AWS product features and practical deployment and tuning experience with EC2, EKS, VPC, or big-data products.
  • Experience with microservices architecture, including deployment, scaling, and maintenance.
  • Experience monitoring, operating, and managing large-scale AWS servers and containers.
  • Hands-on experience with big-data or machine-learning platforms such as Databricks, AWS SageMaker, or Aliyun DSW, including support for data pipelines, notebook environments, and model training or deployment workflows.
  • Familiarity with deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Nginx, Kong, and other software.
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, or shell for development.
  • Strong engineering skills and proficiency in at least one infrastructure sub-area, such as public-cloud networking, SRE, DevOps, or cloud-native technologies.
  • Experience with internal developer platforms and proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Codex to improve engineering efficiency.
  • Excellent business analysis, system architecture, and problem-solving abilities, and strong self-drive.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL and NoSQL or big-data storage systems such as Redis, MongoDB, or HBase.
  • Working knowledge of Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin.
  • Familiarity with operations and maintenance management of Alibaba Cloud, Google Cloud, Microsoft Cloud, and other cloud providers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and configure AWS products and services.
  • Research, architect, and implement solutions based on AWS products.
  • Perform daily maintenance of AWS cloud environments.
  • Support deployment, maintenance, and scaling of big data and machine-learning platforms, including Databricks, AWS SageMaker, and Aliyun DSW.
  • Own the Databricks platform on AWS end to end, including workspace provisioning and configuration, cluster policies, instance pools, and SQL warehouses, managed as code using the Databricks Terraform provider.
  • Monitor and optimize Databricks cost and performance, including cluster sizing and autoscaling, Photon and serverless adoption, DBU usage tracking via system tables, and job reliability tuning.
  • Automate provisioning, scaling, and configuration of infrastructure resources using tools such as Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving production database issues during incidents.
  • Monitor company services and handle alerts in a timely manner to support stability and uptime.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new features.
