About The Position

The Senior Cloud Engineer will support commercial cloud services infrastructure for a managed service provider delivering hosting and managed cloud services in public clouds, including Microsoft Azure and AWS, as well as private clouds. The role involves migrating on-premises applications to cloud environments, engineering secure transport, automating infrastructure and administrative work, supporting CI/CD pipelines and code repositories, and applying DoD STIGs and IA vulnerability management practices.

Requirements

• Experience in computer science or IT.
• CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent IA certification.
• A cloud computing environment certification, such as Azure Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Active security clearance.
• Mid- to senior-level cloud engineering experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience successfully managing several large projects.
• Strong experience with IPsec/VPN, other secure transport technologies, and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
• Proven experience moving on-premises applications to the cloud.
• Understanding of network, storage, server, and application technologies.
• Strong knowledge of automation concepts, tools, and scripting languages, such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Bash, Puppet, or Chef.
• Working knowledge of code repository tools such as Git.
• Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM).
• CI/CD pipeline experience, such as Jenkins, Travis CI, or AWS CodeDeploy.

• Experience automating routine administrative tasks.
• Senior IT networking experience or equivalent.
