About The Position

The Senior Client Relationship Manager (Sr. CRM) contributes to the overall success of the Commercial Bank in Canada. This role involves delivering excellent, responsive, and proactive service to commercial clients, focusing on accounts, operating services, credit, lending, and deposits. The Sr. CRM is expected to manage financial statement analysis and credit needs for moderately to highly complex deals, possessing a strong knowledge of the Bank's commercial lending and deposit products, services, and customer profitability model to offer integrated financial solutions. A key aspect of this role is promoting the development and profitable growth of a commercial banking portfolio, identifying prospects, developing sales pipelines, conducting sales calls, and qualifying opportunities. The role also involves managing a customer portfolio of moderate to higher complexity, targeting clients with specific credit authorization and annual sales ranges, and completing credit applications with support from a Client Service Associate.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree in business or economics or work equivalency.
  • Demonstrated success in a business development role, especially with respect to new client acquisitions, within a career length of two to five years.
  • Strong knowledge of the commercial banking marketplace in Canada and a detailed knowledge of the assigned market area’s key industries and competitive positioning.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Customer-focused approach to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Strong business development background and a track record of achieving growth targets.
  • Extremely strong organizational skills to handle the stress of a fast-paced role with reprioritization needs.
  • Ability to manage priorities that may need to be re-adjusted to accommodate urgent requests.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial statement analysis and the ability to manage credit needs for deals of moderate to higher complexity.
  • Provide integrated financial solutions by leveraging a strong knowledge of Bank’s commercial lending and deposit products and services, and customer profitability model.
  • Promote the development and profitable growth of a commercial banking portfolio.
  • Identify prospects in target markets, develop proposed sales pipelines, conduct prospect sales calls and qualify opportunities.
  • Manage a customer portfolio of moderate to higher complexity, with business development activities that targets clients with credit authorizations between $5MM to $25MM and annual sales between $15MM to $75MM.
  • Analyze and complete credit applications with dedicated support from a Client Service Associate.
