About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Commercial Banking Relationship Manager for clients with annual revenue of $25MM to $100MM supporting the Palo Alto / San Jose, CA market as part of the Commercial Bank. In this role, you will independently develop, retain, and grow moderately complex client relationships and lead a team. You will leverage a solid understanding of relationship management, client needs, and financial decision-makers, responding quickly, communicating proactively, managing expectations, and soliciting feedback. You will lead or participate in the structuring, modification, and renewal of moderately complex loans and other industry-specific solutions by analyzing financials, presenting to clients, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and partnering with senior peers. You will review, understand, and offer the full suite of moderately complex solutions to meet client needs, engaging product organizations and leveraging your understanding of clients’ businesses, strategic objectives, and financial positions. You will independently lead or resolve moderately complex initiatives and guide your team to meet deliverables, adhering to relevant policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. You will collaborate and consult with peers and managers to resolve client issues and achieve business objectives, helping clients navigate processes, escalating inquiries when needed, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. You will drive relationship planning activities, maintain sales and pipeline disciplines, and support Business Development Representatives in sourcing new clients. You will partner with Commercial Lending Product Management to provide feedback on client and market needs for credit solutions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Ability to travel.

  • There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Independently develop, retain, and grow moderately complex client relationships and lead team.

  • Independently lead or resolve moderately complex initiatives and guide team to meet deliverables within the Commercial Banking Relationship Management group.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve client issues while achieving Wells Fargo’s business objectives.
  • Drive relationship planning activities to deliver the full suite of solutions and maintain sales and pipeline disciplines.
  • Support Business Development Representatives in sourcing new Commercial Banking clients.
  • Partner with Commercial Lending Product Management to provide feedback on client and market needs to enable the innovation, design, and delivery of credit solutions more effectively.
