About The Position

Due to organizational growth, we are seeking candidates for the position of Senior Client Accounting Specialist (CAS). In this role you will provide accounting and bookkeeping services to a diverse portfolio of clients. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing day-to-day accounting transactions, preparing financial reports, and assisting clients with their accounting needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, client-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality service while meeting deadlines. This position will be fully remote, with the expectations to be available for in office client meetings as needed and will also be required to attend firm-wide trainings (in person) a few times per year.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
  • Experience managing accounting for multiple clients preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounting processes.
  • Experience with accounting software systems (e.g. QuickBooks, Thompson Reuters products) and are proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Strong technical, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Payroll processing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full-charge bookkeeping for multiple clients across various industries.
  • Record and reconcile daily financial transactions.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Prepare monthly bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare and process payroll and payroll tax filings (as assigned).
  • Record journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Generate management reports and customized financial reports for clients.
  • Analyze account activity and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist clients in understanding financial reports and account balances.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients.
  • Respond to client questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate regularly regarding financial information, deadlines, and outstanding items.
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships through exceptional service.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Engagement Manager and other accounting platforms.
  • Maintain electronic accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist clients with accounting software setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Import and export financial data between accounting systems as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Follow firm policies, procedures, and quality control standards.
  • Assist with year-end tax preparation by organizing financial information for tax staff.
