About The Position

This application is for a Civil Service Examination for the opportunity to be placed on an Eligible List for a future opening. The examination is designed to test the objectives of the duties and minimum qualifications of the classification. The role involves performing responsible work in maintaining office records and conducting other office procedures. In some cases, it may involve supervising a small group of employees concerned with routine office work. The position requires calculating, preparing, and processing bills, invoices, and other financial records, maintaining computerized and other office records, and performing receptionist duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of full-time paid clerical experience required.
  • Working knowledge of computers.
  • Good customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains office records and prepares and analyzes reports or statements.
  • Issues permits and/or licenses in accordance with departmental procedures and regulations.
  • Checks time reports.
  • Distributes cost charges.
  • Prepares payrolls.
  • Handles complaints and arranges for their resolution.
  • Prepares and maintains invoices, purchase orders, and requisitions.
  • Keeps records of property and/or supplies.
  • Maintains a petty cash account.
  • Compiles statistical reports.
  • Acts as information clerk in matters relating to the office.
  • Calculates, prepares, and processes bills, invoices, and other financial records according to established procedures.
  • Maintains computerized and other office records and logs.
  • Performs receptionist duties as needed.
  • Supervises a small group of employees concerned with routine office work (in some cases).
