What you will do You'll be responsible for adjusting auto bodily injury claims, in primarily Southern venues (including TX, GA, SC, and NC). You'll be communicating with all parties involved and completing investigations in a timely and thorough manner. This position will include contact with attorneys on serious claim matters, and you will consult with a supervisor on more complex coverage and technical matters. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to negotiate and settle claims while adhering to company policies and procedures. This is a hybrid role reporting to our Charlotte-Ballantyne, NC location.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years as Claims Specialist handling auto bodily injury or 3-4 years adjusting experience.
  • Auto bodily injury experience strongly preferred with knowledge of commercial claims preferred.
  • Knowledge of venues including TX, GA, SC, and NC preferred.
  • Licensing Required to obtain your license(s) as an adjuster in the state(s) in which you are assigned to adjust claims.
  • Licensing must be obtained within the timeframe set forth by the Company and must be maintained as needed throughout your employment.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and handle personal and commercial auto bodily injury claims of a complex and serious nature.
  • Perform special claims investigations and handle matters requiring broad technical claims knowledge.
  • Operate on an independent basis with little supervision.
  • Settle claims within assigned authority.
  • Maintain contact with attorneys concerning serious claim matters.
  • Review court decisions, law and coverage interpretations.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of the law and claim practices.
  • May assume duties of the Claims Supervisor in the Supervisor's absence.
