Treasury Board and Finance – Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) provides services to client ministries and agencies throughout the government to help them identify, measure, control and finance risk. The program covers Participants of the Alberta Risk Management Fund (Fund) in accordance with the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and the Risk Management Fund Regulation (regulation). RMI administers a program designed to minimize the cost of accidental loss or damage arising from property, general, and other lines of, liability, automobile, and other risks. The Claims Management Branch is responsible for the investigation and resolution of all claims covered by the Fund under the Risk Management and Insurance program (the RMI Program). Claims are financed through the Fund and purchased commercial insurance as required.
