About The Position

Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated experienced Claims professional to join our team. This role is part of a merit-based work-from-home program, offering flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week after initial in-person training. The position requires providing feedback, training, and educational material to claims associates across operating states from a Home Office setting. There is a willingness to relocate after one or two years of training in the Home Office. The role involves reviewing and monitoring open claims files, assisting with coverage, liability, and damage determinations, and ensuring adherence to claim handling guidelines and state's Fair Claims Practices. Additionally, the Senior Claims Examiner will assist with other duties as assigned and help develop and present educational material to claims associates in both classroom and remote settings.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of multi-line claims handling experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Good interpersonal skills and accurate mathematical skills.
  • Ability to effectively and tactfully deal with all types of people at all levels is essential.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Management or supervisory experience is favorable.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Xactimate software is preferred but not required
  • Organize and interpret data

Responsibilities

  • Providing feedback, training and educational material to claim associates throughout our operating states from a Home Office setting.
  • Review and monitor open claims files.
  • Provide assistance with coverage, liability and damage determinations.
  • Review open and closed files to ensure adherence to claim handling guidelines and state's Fair Claims Practices.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned within the regions or elsewhere on request.
  • Assist in developing and presenting educational material to claim associates in classroom and remote settings.
  • Travel, attend meetings, seminars and other training classes as required.
