The base salary range for this position is $78,000 to $110,000, complemented by a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to help our employees – and their family members – achieve their physical, financial, emotional, and social wellbeing goals. Base salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Requirements

  • At least 6-8 years of experience in Commercial General Liability Bodily Injury and Auto Bodily Injury.
  • Strong experience investigating and settling claims directly with claimants and plaintiff counsel.
  • Sound understanding of litigation principles and practices for Tort Provinces.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid time management and organizational skills. Ability to identify and prioritize important tasks while handling high volumes of work.
  • Client and broker service focused.
  • Strong knowledge of industry trends, issues, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical, interpretation, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to conceptualize details and develop action plans for problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Comfortable working in a paperless and technologically based environment. Comfortable utilizing AI for day-to-day tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience in Accident Benefits is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • CIP, FCIP, CRM preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a well-organized and efficient book of CGL bodily injury and Auto bodily injury claims across Canada (excluding Quebec).
  • Handle claims start-to-finish including investigation, coverage review, reserve management, negotiating, and settlement in a cost-effective manner.
  • Engage in thorough investigation of moderate to high complexity claims through communication with insureds, claimants, and plaintiff counsel.
  • Works with Independent Adjusters/surveyors and defense counsel in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Reviews and assess liability exposure based on legal principles and case analysis reports.
  • Attends settlement meetings, mediations and pre-trials.
  • Ensure timely issuance of settlement funds and disbursements.
  • Completes proper internal reports in a timely manner and sent to the appropriate Head Office department.
  • Contributes to profitability through managing expenses as per file handling best practices.
  • Work closely with all levels of CNA’s internal and external broker business partners to share knowledge and developments on claims.
  • Makes recommendations on claims policy and processes to further enhance the claim department.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks and projects as assigned.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.
