About The Position

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is hiring a Senior Claim Representative for its Accident and Health team. Based in the Denver, Colorado; Plymouth, Minnesota; Chicago, Illinois; or Alpharetta, Georgia offices, this role follows a hybrid schedule and handles and resolves complex, higher-exposure specialty claims. The position is part of the U.S. team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
At least 2–6 years of progressively complex specialty claims experience.
Experience resolving bodily injury claims.

Nice To Haves

Uninsured motorist (UM) and underinsured motorist (UIM) experience desired.
Personal injury protection (PIP) or medical payments (MedPay) experience desired.

Responsibilities

Make timely and appropriate contacts and conduct the appropriate level of investigation to determine coverage, assess liability, and determine damages.
Take recorded statements from involved parties when appropriate for the type of claim.
Determine exposure, establish adequate reserves, and adjust reserves as needed in a timely manner.
Assign and direct internal and external resources, including independent adjusters and appraisers.
Determine whether additional evidence is needed, such as accident reports, accident scene reconstructions, witness statements, police reports, or expert opinions.
Identify questionable claims and consult with the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) as appropriate.
Determine loss settlement value and negotiate appropriate settlements within authority.
Recommend settlement and disposition of claims that exceed authority.
Stay current on state licensing requirements and participate in continuing education as required.
