About The Position

The Claims Examiner II, Accident & Health, handles all aspects of resolution for assigned claims and provides service to internal and external customers. The role reviews policies and submitted documents to confirm coverage; analyzes and communicates coverage positions to customers, brokers, and policyholders; investigates claim facts; and determines claim eligibility and amounts payable under contract terms. The examiner also identifies potential subrogation and makes appropriate risk and fraud referrals. The position is part of AIG’s Claims team, which focuses on technical excellence and responsive, fair, professional claims service. AIG states that team members are primarily in the office to support in-person collaboration. Requirements

At least some claims experience, with exposure to Accident & Health claims.
Highly organized, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Above-average computer skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to read and interpret insurance policies.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Handle all aspects of claim resolution for assigned Accident & Health claims while providing service to internal and external customers.
Review policies and documents submitted by customers to confirm claim coverage.
Analyze and communicate coverage positions to customers, brokers, and policyholders.
Conduct, coordinate, and direct investigations into the facts of a loss.
Determine claim eligibility and amounts owed under contract terms.
Recognize and pursue subrogation where warranted.
Recognize and make appropriate risk and fraud referrals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
