About The Position

Energix Renewables is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Manager to join their civil engineering department. This role will be based in their Arlington, Virginia headquarters or remote in the Mid-Atlantic region. The Senior Civil Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing third-party consultants and providing in-house support on the civil engineering aspects of project development, M&A, and construction of utility solar array projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in land development in the Mid-Atlantic region, be able to manage third-party consultants, and lead a group of civil engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • P.E. license.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Civil Engineering specializing in stormwater design.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD or similar software.
  • Experience in civil engineering codes, and standards.
  • Ability to analyze financial impacts of engineering requirements and challenges.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with strong initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • Land Development experience in VA, PA, and OH states is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of site-civil engineering projects, from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Lead all design aspects, including layout, grading, earthwork, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion control.
  • Ensure designs meet Energix standards, federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
  • Request for proposals from the third-party engineering and geotechnical consultants, and proposal analysis and contracting.
  • Lead project teams, coordinating with internal staff, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
  • Oversee project documentation, including contracts and permits.
  • Monitor project progress, addressing challenges to maintain timelines and budgets.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, proactively resolving delays or obstacles.
  • Participate in local, state, and federal permitting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications and permit requirements through as-built drawings.
  • Participate in the early stages to advance level development of the projects to provide engineering supports.
  • Perform review of geotechnical reports from third party consultants to identify potential geotechnical risks of the project.
  • Perform site visit with internal team and with consultants to identify site development, construction risk, and find a solution with designs.
  • Manages efforts to problem solve for engineering challenges and coordinates with project consultants and site managers.
