About The Position

SpaceX is hiring a Manager, Site Civil Engineering to lead engineers and project teams in designing and building civil infrastructure. The role oversees civil projects from design and procurement through construction, commissioning, and close-out, and includes managing contractors, construction contracts, and project execution. The manager also develops project drawings and documentation, conducts onsite inspections, and resolves field conflicts. The position may involve extended hours, weekends, and occasional travel according to project and site needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in civil engineering design, analysis, and drafting.
• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership position.
• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to fumes, odors, and noise.
• Availability to work extended hours and weekends when needed based on site operational needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements: be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers in designing and building civil infrastructure.
• Lead engineers and contractors throughout civil projects, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for industrial and commercial projects.
• Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts across multiple disciplines through contract close-out.
• Manage the execution and completion of construction projects.
• Interact with contractors, fabricators, owners, and clients.
• Conduct direct onsite engineering inspections and field observations.
• Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time.
