About The Position

BWB Consulting is hiring a Senior Civil Engineer for its Property Division. The role involves providing engineering consultancy services to a diverse client base as part of a multidisciplinary team, from early design concepts through commissioning. The successful candidate will take technical ownership of civil engineering designs, coordinate project delivery, build client relationships, and support the development of colleagues. The position combines hands-on technical work with project leadership, client engagement, and mentoring.

Requirements

Proven civil engineering design experience, particularly in levels, drainage, and external works.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroDrainage, and Microsoft Office.
Experience delivering complex projects from planning through completion, including liaison with planning authorities, statutory undertakers, and bodies such as the Environment Agency.
Understanding of how civil engineering interfaces with other disciplines.
Commercial awareness and ability to build lasting client relationships.
Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to adapt communication to different audiences.
Ability to work independently on civil engineering designs and take responsibility for successful project delivery.
Ability to delegate effectively, support colleagues, and contribute to a collaborative team.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Civil 3D or PDS; willingness to train in Civil 3D.
Interest in developing project coordination skills.
Developing influencing and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

Lead preliminary and detailed civil engineering designs for levels, drainage, and external works across adoptable and private developments.
Coordinate the delivery of multiple projects, manage priorities, and lead small teams with delegated responsibility from a Team Leader or Principal Engineer.
Work closely with clients, understand their needs, and help showcase BWB’s capabilities to new contacts.
Mentor Graduates and Engineers, provide constructive guidance, and share technical knowledge.
Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to resolve design challenges and deliver coordinated engineering solutions.
Maintain professionalism, diligence, and a commitment to quality on every project.
