About The Position

Giffels Webster is hiring a Senior Civil Engineer for its Oakland County office in Birmingham, Michigan. The role involves working on high-profile land development projects intended to enhance quality of life in southeast Michigan. The engineer will work independently on a range of projects and support clients including architects, developers, property owners, and real estate professionals. Work is performed in a team environment led by a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager. In-person collaboration and mentoring are important to the position. With experience and supervisor approval, the employee may be eligible for a hybrid schedule of up to two remote days and three office days per week.

Requirements

Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university or equivalent applicable experience.
At least 5 years of civil engineering experience.
Experience with AutoCAD software.
Exposure to municipal and/or private development projects.

Nice To Haves

Michigan PE licensure, or seeking to obtain it.
Experience with Civil 3D.
Experience with water and sanitary design.
Experience with WaterCAD or WaterGEMS.
Experience working with MDOT Local Agency Programs.

Responsibilities

Prepare site plan layouts and geometrics.
Perform grading and pavement design.
Design soil erosion and sediment control measures.
Design storm, sanitary, and water utilities.
Design stormwater management and green infrastructure.
Prepare traffic plans and details.
Prepare record drawings and specifications.
Prepare permit applications and cost estimates.
Attend meetings and conduct field visits.
Perform construction administration tasks.
