About The Position

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Circuit Design Engineer to contribute to processor design in deep submicron technologies. The role is part of a global circuits team developing innovative circuits for hardware security, adaptive clocking, and power management. The engineer will design and physically implement custom digital IPs from RTL through layout, and collaborate across functions to improve power, performance, area, and reliability in next-generation products through custom circuit solutions and transistor-level analysis. The role also includes prototyping patentable ideas on test chips and driving their deployment across product lines, delivering transistor-level circuit designs, schematics, and layouts, incorporating AI/ML techniques into design processes and methodologies, and mentoring or technically leading junior team members. The position calls for a BSEE or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience, plus digital circuit design experience appropriate to the degree. NVIDIA describes a competitive salary and benefits package, with base salary ranges differing by level, and eligibility for equity and benefits. The posting is for an existing vacancy and notes that applications will be accepted at least until October 23, 2026.

Requirements

  • BSEE/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience; the posting says BSEE/MS preferred.
  • At least 3 years of digital circuit design experience with a master's degree, or at least 5 years with a bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent understanding of deep submicron process issues and digital circuit design techniques.
  • Hands-on experience running SPICE simulations, EM/IR analysis, and static timing analysis/closure.
  • Basic understanding of and experience working with layout (DRC, LVS) and/or place-and-route tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience designing and analyzing low-power circuits, such as power gating, decaps, and multi-Vt.
  • Experience with RTL, logic synthesis, and verification.
  • Mixed-signal circuit design experience.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl, or Make, and automation methods or algorithms.
  • Ownership and hands-on experience across the silicon design flow, from microarchitecture and RTL design to backend execution, including custom/semi-custom circuit design, synthesis, auto place and route, STA, and PVerf.
  • Capability in post-silicon characterization and debug to ensure designs meet hardware performance targets.
  • Track record of independently driving and delivering complex features from conception through tape-out and validation.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in processor design in deep submicron technologies.
  • Design innovative circuits for hardware security, adaptive clocking, and power management as part of a global circuits team.
  • Drive the design and physical implementation of custom digital IPs from RTL to layout using industry-standard tools and custom design flows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve power, performance, area, and reliability through custom circuit solutions and transistor-level analysis.
  • Develop prototypes of patentable ideas on test chips and drive their deployment across product lines.
  • Perform transistor-level circuit design, schematic entry, and layout delivery.
  • Integrate AI/ML techniques into the design process and methodology.
  • Mentor or serve as a technical lead for junior team members.

Benefits

  • Competitive salaries and a generous benefits package.
  • Equity eligibility.
