About The Position

The Brookline Council on Aging seeks a part-time Transportation Assistant to provide staff support to the Brookline Council on Aging/ Senior Center transportation programs (TRIPPS), specifically helping to manage the Senior Center�s growing medical transportation program. This position assists residents with their medical transportation needs and involves responding to phone calls, emails, and scheduling rides for individuals.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with other members of the COA team and other organizational partners

  • Ability to maintain computerized records and reports
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Google Forms and Sheets and basic text messaging
  • Ability to respond quickly to problems or emergency situations

  • Additional training will be provided for site specific computer systems and utilizing transportation options.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the Senior Center Medical Transportation line and email address for new medical transportation requests.
  • Inputting new requests into an online spreadsheet.
  • Managing cancellations and changes.
  • Submitting new requests and cancellations to the transportation vendor.
  • Providing new users with information on the Medical Transportation Program.
  • Conducting reminder calls to Medical Transportation Participants.
  • Provide other transportation options as appropriate (e.g. Lyft Concierge)
  • Provide transportation alternatives to Brookline older adults
