About The Position

The Transportation Assistant works with route drivers in providing prompt, efficient and courteous service to all customers through utilization of routing system. This role involves supervising, assigning, and organizing driver routes to ensure efficiency based on stops and route costs. The assistant is responsible for completing daily and weekly reports, conducting accident investigations, managing driver safety meetings, and monitoring driver hours and performance to maintain compliance with DOT regulations. Additionally, the role coordinates Mobile Wash Unit and Tank Delivery, maintains customer accounts through personal and telephone contact, and performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field or 3-5 years of experience in a service business.
• Ability to pass physical and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• Route experience in an industrial environment a definite plus.
• Route sales and/or routing system experience preferred.
• Works well with others in a team environment.
• Communicates clearly in verbal and written form.
• Highly organized; superior time management skills.
• Good math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, assigns and organizes driver routes ensuring route efficiency based on stops and route costs.
• Completes daily and weekly reports on tickets, manifests, costs, and routing.
• Conducts accident investigations and reports findings to upper management.
• Manage and document driver safety meetings ensuring compliance with all company safety rules and regulations as well as federal, state and local regulations.
• Monitors driver hours and performance to maintain compliance with DOT regulations.
• Responsible for completing driver evaluations.
• Coordinates Mobile Wash Unit and Tank Delivery to customer's site including input and follow-up with Customer Service Representative.
• Maintain current customer accounts through personal and telephone contact ensuring quality service to each customer in coordination with Customer Service Representative.
