Senior Center Trainee (16 hrs/wk)

About The Position
This is a trainee position where the individual will be exposed to various duties within senior center operations. These duties may encompass cooking, food preparation, serving, preparing and delivering home-delivered meals, cleaning and custodial tasks, driving and transportation services, and homemaker/chore/respite services. Trainees are limited to working no more than 20 hours per week unless prior written approval is obtained from the NM Aging Long-Term Services Department (ALTSD).
Requirements
- Must be 55 years or older.
- Must be a New Mexico Resident.
- Must be enrolled in the New Mexico Senior Employment Program.
- Must obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire.
- Certifications must meet the requirements listed in the document “BLS / CPR / ACLS & First Aid Training Resources” posted on Staurolite.
- Must successfully complete an initial post-offer of employment Criminal Records Check.
- If interested in performing duties that require driving, must sign Job Description Addendum for Driver Duties and have a Valid NM Driver’s license.
