Senior Center Operator 1 (Local Government)
About The Position
As a Part-Time Senior Center Operator 1 with the Monroe County Area Agency on Aging (AAA), you will shape activities that support health, learning, and social interaction. This position offers an opportunity to plan programs that match the interests of local seniors. You will help guide volunteers, support center operations, and keep services running smoothly. You will help ensure services run smoothly and support both participants and volunteers.
Requirements
- Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must meet the PA residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities
- Organize and schedule recreational, educational, and nutritional programs for center participants
- Identify consumer interests and plan programs that meet those needs
- Check food deliveries, train volunteers in food handling, and collect donations
- Evaluate center services to determine success in reaching program goals
- Support volunteers and ensure they follow proper procedures during activities
