About The Position

Join Apple’s Wireless Technologies and Ecosystems Engineering (WTE) team to develop virtual prototype solutions for next-generation cellular and connectivity products. As part of the simulation team, you will develop virtual prototypes for SoCs to support cellular software development and collaborate closely with system engineering, SoC, and software teams. The role includes modeling IP, developing test benches, integrating subsystems, creating low-level drivers for virtual-platform verification, and supporting software bring-up on the simulation platform. You will also integrate cycle-accurate CPU subsystems for profiling, perform performance modeling, create hybrid simulations, and optimize simulation speed. The successful candidate will bring strong technical and collaboration skills and thrive in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology, Master of Technology in Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent degree.
  • 7 to 14 years of experience in virtual-platform development, including virtual prototyping, IP modeling using SystemC or similar languages, platform integration, and verification for complex SoCs.
  • Strong programming proficiency in C/C++ and scripting experience with Python.
  • Hands-on experience with test-bench development, subsystem integration, and developing test cases for virtual-platform verification.
  • Experience supporting software bring-up on simulation platforms and assisting software teams.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with AI tools such as Claude for coding, debugging, and automation, and hands-on experience building AI agents to improve simulation workflows.
  • Strong experience with Git and GitHub, including branching, code reviews, and CI/CD.
  • Deep understanding of CPU architectures and subsystems, complex SoC architecture, and hardware/software interfaces.
  • Experience integrating cycle-accurate CPU subsystems for profiling, performance modeling, hybrid simulation, and simulation-speed optimization.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of cellular-domain concepts, including familiarity with 3GPP standards or experience with L1/L2 layers.
