About The Position

The Senior CCTV Operator (Senior Operator) plays a lead role on site, overseeing projects and guiding other technicians throughout the workday. With strong expertise in coordinating CCTV inspections and cleaning operations, the Senior Operator plans ahead when work conditions allow by reviewing each sewer line and determining the right combination of trucks, crew, and traffic control to keep non-standard work running efficiently. This role requires staying on top of issues as they arise and addressing problems in real time rather than letting them build up at the end of the job. Depending on the scope, conditions, and complexity of the work, the Senior Operator may run the CCTV truck or work independently from it as the job progresses.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in CCTV operations is required, with a strong focus on sewer inspection and flushing
  • The Senior CCTV Operator will take a leadership role on job sites, overseeing technicians and coordinating day-to-day operations
  • This position requires the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and logistical plans to ensure proper staffing, equipment, and traffic control
  • The ideal candidate will proactively address on-site issues in real time and may also support office tasks as project needs evolve.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tasks relating to CCTV mainline sewer inspections in various diameters of sanitary and storm sewers as per NASSCO’s PACP certification program
  • Conduct tasks relating to lateral CCTV sewer inspections and manhole inspections under the NASSCO LACP/MACP certification program
  • Conduct work within sanitary and storm manholes in a safe and effective manner according to Confined Space and Working at Heights regulations
  • Understand and safely use equipment including, but not limited to, tripod with SRL, gas meter, smoke generating machines, diesel truck while pulling dye trailer, and water pumping equipment
  • Use power tools and follow basic construction practices, including drills, power saws, grinders, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and locate possible issues or damage to equipment and inform the Condition Assessment Field Supervisor and/or the business unit Vice President of recommended solutions and repair methods
  • Clean and complete essential preventative maintenance (e.g., checking tire pressure and fluid levels; performing inspections including circle checks and fluid drip checks on work vehicles, safety equipment, and hand and power tools; maintenance of malfunctioning CCTV equipment in the field and in the warehouse, etc.).
  • Follow all company safety and working procedures
  • Understand and apply safe practices and proper use of safety equipment when working in areas affected by vehicular traffic, including Traffic Control requirements
  • Drive safely and follow road regulations as per MILTSD, particularly when travelling on city streets and highways
  • Be willing to work in inclement weather conditions
  • Carry necessary equipment weighing less than 60lbs from office or storage locations to vehicles
  • Work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules, including the possibility of evenings, weekends, night shifts, and extended hours
  • Work independently and without direct supervision when required, while cooperating effectively with fellow technicians
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Thoroughly document site conditions and work completed and prepare daily reports of inspections conducted
  • Complete on-site clerical work, including photographs, videos, and distribution of required documentation
  • Train and mentor new hires and junior technicians in CCTV inspection techniques, equipment operation, and safe work practices
  • Provide on-the-job guidance to ensure adherence to NASSCO standards, company procedures, and applicable safety regulations
  • Support competency development by demonstrating proper inspection methods, documentation standards, and field best practices
  • Assist supervisors and management by providing feedback on trainee progress and identifying additional training needs
