About The Position

The CCTV Operator is responsible for ensuring safety, planning work, conducting inspections, maintaining production logs, organizing data, managing production, maintaining equipment, mapping, handling UTC (Underground Technology Corporation) and UTL (Underground Line) information, managing supply orders and inventory, and participating in safety meetings. The role requires a strong focus on safety protocols, accurate data recording, and efficient equipment operation.

Requirements

  • Safety should be the first concern.
  • Must have NASSCO PACP certification.
  • Accurate inspections with correct coding, proper clock positions, and clear photos.
  • Ability to determine the correct method and application of flow control devices.
  • Perform quality control self-checks on data.
  • Follow proper procedures for reel calibration and accurately calibrate within 3%.
  • Production Logs must be turned in every day upon return to the yard WITHOUT EXCEPTION.
  • Track Man Hours.
  • Track Downtime and description.
  • Track Equipment numbers and Usage hours.
  • Track Task codes (CCTV, Cleaning, Root Cutting, Traffic Flagmen, etc.).
  • Track Pipe size.
  • Notify PM of severe defects with footage of defect from MH.
  • Make the proper folder for exports.
  • Count Videos.
  • Watch every video after export to ensure correctness & completion of export.
  • Ensure the van computer and desk area are organized for immediate work by any operator.
  • Utilize folders on the Computer and hard drive, making correct folders.
  • Ensure correct media path in Granite.
  • Have daily data organized.
  • Perform Clean/TV operations, aiming for 1500 feet/day.
  • Punch in any other employees timecard.
  • Manage JetVac Operators & Helpers, including Daily Vehicle Inspection (Check Fluids, tire pressure, lights, etc.).
  • Get radios, GPS, Etc.
  • Ensure cleanliness.
  • Collect depths and hard tape footage.
  • Maintain the Equipment by addressing repairs promptly to avoid downtime.
  • Service Generators every 250 hours.
  • Service Trucks every 3,000 miles.
  • Complete Map Change form on ProLog.
  • Update maps.
  • Call if uncertain about mapping.
  • Ensure UTC lines are included on Pro logs.
  • Create a UTC header screen in Granite.
  • Complete voice-over header info and reason line.
  • Export Inspection and Header screen.
  • Make every effort to find MHs (Manholes).
  • Note MHs on Pro log and in Granite.
  • Create a UTC header screen if UTC is due to UTL.
  • Submit a written request for supplies.
  • Participate in a determined monthly maintenance day.
  • Plan all repair issues ahead of time for the PM to get proper tools and parts.
  • Participate in a complete inventory taken once per month or when a unit mobilizes to a different project.
  • Turn in Miles and Hours at the beginning of the work week.
  • Participate in weekly safety meetings.
  • Contribute to safety meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing Jet/Vac operators.
  • Familiarity with special accommodations such as Easement Machine, Traffic Control, Private Property Access, and Water Truck.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure drivers always have spotters while backing or navigating tight spots.
  • Confirm signs and cones are properly placed BEFORE units are parked in traffic.
  • Always request a flagger when needed.
  • Make sure entire crew is wearing ALL PPE.
  • Formulate a written plan for work to be completed for every 5 working days.
  • Manage Jet/Vac operators.
  • Make note of special accommodations that will be needed (Easement Machine, Traffic Control, Private Property Access, Water Truck).
