About The Position
CompassCare is seeking an experienced and compassionate caregiver to provide one-on-one care for a wonderful male client in Manhattan. The client has specifically requested a male caregiver to assist with his personal care and daily needs. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of hands-on experience caring for clients living with dementia, and dementia care training or certification is a plus. If you are passionate about helping older adults maintain their independence while providing exceptional concierge-level care, we'd love to hear from you!
Requirements
- The client has specifically requested a male caregiver for this assignment.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
- Minimum of 2 years of one-on-one senior caregiving experience.
- At least 2 years of experience caring for clients living with dementia is required.
- Comfortable around dogs.
- Comfortable working alongside family members in the home.
- HHA, CNA, PCA, PCT, or another certification related to senior home care.
- Strong communication and client service skills.
- Kind, optimistic, empathetic, dependable, and professional.
- Passionate about working with older adults.
Nice To Haves
- Dementia care training or certification is a plus.
- CPR Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain before starting).
Responsibilities
- Provide concierge-level care, companionship, and engagement.
- Assist with enrichment activities, outings, and social events.
- Accompany the client to appointments when needed.
- Assist with personal care.
- Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping.
- Follow the individualized care plan.
- Complete daily reporting and communicate with the Care Team.
- Provide care for a male client living with dementia.
- Be comfortable working in a home with dogs.
- Work collaboratively with family members in the home.
