About The Position

ZipStaff is seeking an experienced CAD Data Migration Architect to lead the migration of legacy data into Teamcenter for a global engineering and technology services organization. The role owns the migration architecture from source analysis through validated load, including metadata and NX CAD data, and works closely with design and build teams to map data to the Teamcenter data model and ensure a clean, accurate, well-validated migration. The position is remote, with the client based in Livonia, Michigan, and is a W-2 contract through ZipStaff; C2C and 1099 arrangements are not accepted. The architect leads migration strategy and execution across source analysis, data mapping, transformation, validation, and final load. They ensure data integrity, completeness, and accuracy; address technical challenges involving CAD structures, relationships, and metadata; support testing and production cutover readiness; and provide technical guidance and documentation to design, build, and operational teams. Applicants should highlight relevant migration architecture, Teamcenter and NX work, source-to-target mapping, and validated load experience. Pure research or junior experience will not be considered.

Requirements

At least 8 years of experience in CAD data migration, PLM data management, or related architecture roles.
Proven experience leading migrations of legacy data into Teamcenter, including metadata and NX CAD data.
Ability to own migration architecture from source analysis through validated load.
Hands-on experience mapping source data structures to the Teamcenter data model.
Deep understanding of NX CAD data, relationships, and metadata requirements in a PLM environment.
Experience collaborating closely with design, build, and technical teams on complex migration projects.
Ability to work remotely.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with large-scale or multi-system CAD/PLM data migrations.
Background in engineering or manufacturing environments using Teamcenter and NX.
Experience with data validation strategies, reconciliation, and cutover planning.
Familiarity with additional Teamcenter modules or related PLM tools.

Responsibilities

Lead the overall architecture and strategy for migrating legacy metadata and NX CAD data into Teamcenter.
Own the migration process from source-system analysis through mapping, transformation, validation, and final load.
Define and refine mappings to the Teamcenter data model in collaboration with design and build teams.
Ensure data integrity, completeness, and accuracy throughout the migration lifecycle.
Identify and resolve technical challenges related to CAD data structures, relationships, and metadata.
Support testing, validation, and readiness activities before production cutover.
Provide technical guidance and documentation for design, build, and operational teams.
