About The Position

The Senior C++ Developer / Software Engineer will develop and optimize software algorithms for remote sensor data exploitation, image analysis, detection, and tracking. The role requires hands-on expertise in C++, software design and architecture, and participation in an Agile team. The position is preferably based in the Boston area; remote work is also acceptable.

Requirements

• At least five years of professional experience and fluency in C++.
• A bachelor's degree in physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science; an additional year of education may be substituted for years of professional experience.
• At least three years of professional experience using Linux operating systems.
• Strong object-oriented programming concepts.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
• Knowledge of data structures.
• Optimization skills for high-data-throughput processing.
• Detail oriented.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Versant Object Database (Versant DB), MongoDB, and/or PostgreSQL.
• Background or familiarity with embedded systems development.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and multithreading/concurrency.
• Seven to ten or more years of professional software development experience, currently working hands-on with C++.

Responsibilities

• Implement new algorithms for remote sensor data exploitation.
• Optimize existing high-throughput algorithms for image analysis, detection, and tracking.
• Apply fluent, idiomatic C++ and contribute to software design and architecture.
• Work as part of an Agile team and contribute to shared tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
