The Material Management Senior Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement and inventory of materials essential for production operations. This includes sourcing high-quality materials, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery to meet production schedules. The role involves overseeing requisitions and purchase orders, implementing inventory plans, and analyzing inventory levels to maintain operational efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure customer satisfaction. The incumbent utilizes ERP/MRP systems to optimize material management, monitor supplier performance, manage costs, and support new product launches. Additionally, they analyze inventory needs, determine buy quantities, and provide change control information to align implementation dates, production schedules, and inventory goals, ensuring compliant material availability. This role collaborates closely with various departments and cross-functional teams such as production, quality assurance, and finance to facilitate efficient material flow and support production schedules. The role requires strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of supply chain principles and inventory management. The Senior Buyer embraces Dynamic Shared Ownership (DSO) principles and practices and follows the VACC approach to leadership (being a visionary, architect, catalyst, and coach). The role actively evolves the site operating model and fosters successful adoption of DSO Scope (global, regional or local).
