  • Strong commercial, analytical, and problem-solving capability, with the ability to make sound decisions under schedule pressure.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier selection for complex buys by integrating technical requirements, quality expectations, commercial terms, project timing, and total landed cost into sourcing recommendations.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, freight terms, warranty positions, and supplier commitments for critical materials and services while documenting final commercial agreements clearly.
  • Drive supplier due diligence, qualification, and onboarding activities, including capability reviews, reference checks, risk screening, and required documentation in coordination with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain leadership.
  • Manage supplier performance for assigned scope, including on-time delivery, responsiveness, quality concerns, corrective actions, and recovery plans for critical-path items.
  • Build and execute sourcing and category actions that improve delivery performance, reduce risk, strengthen supplier leverage, and generate measurable cost reduction aligned with business-unit and CGX objectives.
  • Monitor project-critical material status, escalate shortages early, coordinate recovery plans, and work cross-functionally to protect build schedules and customer commitments.
  • Support trade compliance and logistics execution as needed, including Incoterms alignment, freight coordination, broker support, and documentation quality for imported materials or cross-border shipments.
  • Use approved AI and digital tools responsibly to accelerate RFQ drafting, supplier communication summaries, due diligence research, exception tracking, and spend / KPI analysis; validate outputs and protect confidential information at all times.
  • Help raise team capability by sharing standard work, mentoring less-experienced buyers, and reinforcing stronger commercial judgment, supplier discipline, and execution rigor across the INDL team.
