The Senior Buyer will have primary procurement responsibilities for multiple business areas, supporting Assembly & Test and other functions. This role requires a mix of strategic supplier development and day-to-day buying activities to ensure program schedules are met and cost, quality, and delivery targets are achieved.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, or a related field, and 2 years planning experience OR An Associate’s degree in Business, Analytics, or a related field, and 6 years planning experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • This position requires a full physical which includes bloodwork and Pulmonary Function testing

Nice To Haves

  • Any advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus
  • Experience with PowerBI
  • Experience in supporting lean manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a procurement leader within the organization representing supply chain
  • Creating and executing sourcing strategies for assigned commodity/categories
  • Negotiating supplier contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings and risk reduction
  • Managing supplier performance, on-time delivery and quality metrics; escalating and resolving supplier issues
  • Collaborating with shop planning, production, and engineering to support component gating and kit releases
  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation plans for material and supplier risks
  • Performing data-driven analyses and trend analysis to identify opportunities and forecast needs
  • Placing and expediting purchase orders; monitoring PO status and delivery dates
  • Providing reliable completion and delivery dates to internal stakeholders
  • Supporting master planning with basic forecasting inputs and procurement lead-time updates
  • Leading or participating in cross-functional problem-solving initiatives to remove supply constraints
  • Participating in or leading continuous improvement activities for the procurement function or business unit
  • Mentoring junior buyers and contributing to team development
