About The Position

Lear Corporation is seeking a Senior Buyer - Surface Materials for its Southfield, MI World Headquarters. This role is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors, ensuring cost-effective procurement and timely delivery to support plant and customer requirements. The position involves direct commodity buying responsibility, strategic goal accomplishment through work experience and judgment, negotiation of long-term agreements and yearly savings, and development of commodity strategies. A strong understanding of commercial terms and total cost management concepts is required. Requirements

Minimum of 5 years commodity purchasing experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related business field or equivalent experience
Data driven analysis and negotiating techniques
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to build strong internal and external relationships
High level of integrity
Priority setting and time management
Action oriented & produces results
Strong written communication and presentation skills
Ability to work in a highly productive, constantly changing environment
