About The Position

The Global Procurement Paperboard Team, responsible for the end-to-end management of PepsiCo’s North American Paperboard Packaging spend, is seeking a Senior Buyer for Hybrid Paper Packaging. This role is part of the Global Fiber Category Team and focuses on sourcing strategy, supplier relationship management, innovation, and operational execution to ensure productivity, cost optimization, design to value, and Scope 3 emissions reduction aligned with PepsiCo Positive (pep+) goals. The Hybrid Paper Procurement Sr Buyer NA will report to the Hybrid Paper Sr. Procurement Manager and serve as the subject matter expert for Hybrid Paper packaging solutions within PepsiCo’s North America Foods and Beverages Divisions. This individual will support the execution of sub-categories sourcing strategies, develop and deliver productivity projects, establish and grow strategic supplier partnerships, execute sustainability programs, and drive Value Engineering and Cost projects across multiple brands. The role will also contribute to larger Paperboard Category team initiatives such as should-cost modelling and digitalization. This position requires reporting into either the Plano, TX or Purchase, NY HQ office 3 days/week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, Packaging, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, packaging, supply chain, or a related function.
  • Experience leading supplier negotiations, sourcing initiatives, and RFI/RFP processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage supplier relationships and effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets, identify insights, and drive data-based decision-making.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with complex datasets, formulas, Power Query, and data analysis tools.
  • Proven ability to solve problems independently, navigate ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Experience in packaging procurement, paperboard/fiber packaging, hybrid paper packaging, or related direct material categories.
  • Experience within consumer packaged goods (CPG), food & beverage, manufacturing, or similarly complex operating environments.
  • Proficiency with SAP/S4HANA, Power BI, PowerPoint, Power Apps, SharePoint, Teams, and digital sourcing/procurement platforms.
  • Experience developing dashboards, automating workflows, and leveraging digital tools to support procurement and sourcing decisions.
  • Familiarity with cost modeling, supplier strategy development, procurement digitalization tools, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, with a track record of challenging the status quo to drive innovation and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day requirements of $120MM portfolio, ensuring compliance, pricing updates and critical operations functions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Support the creation, maintenance and evolution of commercial relationships with the Hybrid Paper suppliers across Foods and Beverage's divisions.
  • Lead the creation and the enhancements in data management with suppliers and cross-functional teams to improve accuracy, alignment, standardization, digitalization and operational efficiency.
  • Develop analytical models, dashboards to identify cost, specification, and standardization opportunities across package formats and suppliers.
  • Execute RFI/RFP and Negotiations with suppliers.
  • Present and execute value engineering projects.
  • Support the creation of a productivity pipeline.
  • Support the category efforts to implement Should Cost Model, Spend HQ, FORCER and other digital tools.
  • Support PepsiCo’s sustainability agenda to deliver PEP+ goals for the category.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners including Procurement teams, Supply Chain, R&D, and Finance to ensure smooth project executions.
