About The Position
Berner Food & Beverage is seeking a Procurement Buyer to join their team. This role is responsible for identifying and procuring materials for manufacturing purposes, utilizing a team-based approach. The Procurement Buyer will focus on fiscal responsibility by negotiating favorable pricing, delivery, and terms, while also managing inventory levels to reduce exposure to customer-specific components and ensure production needs are met. This position ensures adherence to all programs, procedures, requirements, practices, and safety standards.
Requirements
- Minimum three years experience in a purchasing environment.

Responsibilities
- Issue blanket purchase orders for corrugate, labels, glues, films, and others directed for manufacturing purposes
- Manage vendor releases to ensure manufacturing needs are met
- Administer label inventory to ensure reduced exposure of customer-specific components
- Order and stock all necessary non-stock materials, including but not limited to, office supplies, paper, glues, and other manufacturing supplies as requested by Operations
- Issue purchase orders for capital projects
- Monitor production schedule to ensure all materials are available as needed; communicate plans for any shortages to the procurement and operations team
- Utilize production forecast to determine raw materials needs; order as necessary to meet needs and keep inventory values low
- Manage “about to expire inventory” & “expired inventory” levels to minimize exposure to Berner
- Attend all meetings that are necessary.
