About The Position

The Senior Business Systems Analyst supports enterprise healthcare payer applications and technology initiatives, with hands-on responsibility for TriZetto Facets. The role combines approximately 60% end-to-end project delivery with 40% production support. The analyst takes initiatives from initial intake and requirements gathering through testing, implementation, and production stabilization, while helping maintain critical systems. The position is primarily remote, with onsite attendance in Newark, New Jersey for two consecutive days per month; the posting describes occasional onsite meetings as preferred at a frequency of one to two times per month. Hotel accommodations for onsite visits are covered, while the employee is responsible for travel expenses. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position.

Requirements

At least 6 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or in a similar technical-functional role.
Strong hands-on experience with TriZetto Facets in a healthcare payer environment.
Deep understanding of healthcare insurance operations, particularly claims, enrollment, eligibility, and payments.
Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, data validation, and troubleshooting.
Experience supporting Facets production environments, including incident investigation, defect analysis, and issue resolution.
Working knowledge of healthcare EDI transactions and data integration processes.
Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
Experience supporting projects through the complete SDLC.
Strong understanding of system interfaces, APIs, and data exchanges.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across business, development, QA, and vendor teams.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and solve complex business and technical problems.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with Facets in a hosted or vendor-managed environment.
Experience coordinating technical troubleshooting with Cognizant or other third-party technology providers.
Experience working in Agile environments.
Background supporting multiple concurrent healthcare payer technology initiatives.
Experience with process improvement, gap analysis, and current-state/future-state assessments.
Previous experience in a senior or Level 3 Business Systems Analyst capacity.

Responsibilities

Lead business and systems analysis activities for enterprise initiatives involving TriZetto Facets.
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and system workflows.
Manage projects through the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from intake and requirements gathering through testing, implementation, and production stabilization.
Support Facets functionality related to claims processing, member enrollment, eligibility, and payments.
Use SQL queries and data analysis to investigate system issues, validate requirements, and troubleshoot production defects.
Analyze healthcare EDI transactions, including 834, 837, 835, 270/271, and 276/277.
Partner with development teams, solution architects, and business stakeholders to assess system impacts and recommend technical solutions.
Investigate Facets production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate issue resolution with internal teams and external technology partners.
Analyze APIs, system interfaces, integrations, and healthcare data exchanges.
Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder meetings, and technical discussions.
Support Agile delivery activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing.
Manage multiple concurrent initiatives and maintain clear communication with business and technology leadership.
