Senior Business Systems Analyst - Loan Origination System
About The Position
The Senior Business Systems Analyst supports product development by analyzing business requirements, ensuring product quality, and conducting detailed analysis and testing. The role serves as a liaison among business stakeholders, development teams, and quality assurance to help deliver products that meet user needs and business goals. It also applies lending lifecycle knowledge, system configuration knowledge, and regulatory compliance understanding to connect financial stakeholders with software developers and improve workflows such as application intake, underwriting, and closing. The role supports analysis of the lending process from lead generation and application intake through credit analysis, underwriting, closing, and funding.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in business analysis, quality assurance, or product analysis roles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with requirements gathering, documentation, and process modeling.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools, such as Selenium, JIRA, and TestRail.
- Understanding of product lifecycle management and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Core knowledge of the lending lifecycle, system configurations, and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of lending lifecycle steps from lead generation and application intake through credit analysis, underwriting, closing, and funding.
Nice To Haves
- Agile Product Owner certification or experience.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and Tableau.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Familiarity with user experience (UX) principles and customer journey mapping.
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and functional specifications.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements for development teams.
- Facilitate communication between business users and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with solution design and validate that deliverables meet business objectives.
- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on requirements.
- Perform manual and automated testing to verify software quality and functionality.
- Identify, document, and track defects, and work with developers to resolve issues.
- Participate in regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices.
- Analyze market trends, user feedback, and product performance metrics to inform product decisions.
- Support product managers in defining product features, roadmaps, and priorities.
- Conduct competitive analysis and identify opportunities for product enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product requirements are understood and implemented.
- Assist in preparing product documentation, training materials, and release notes.
- Apply knowledge of the lending lifecycle, system configurations, and regulatory compliance to help optimize workflows including application intake, underwriting, and closing.
