About The Position

Anduril’s Manufacturing Development team is seeking a Senior Business Process Engineer to grow and implement the Manufacturing Development Process (MDP), a framework that helps Manufacturing Engineering teams pull production readiness forward in the product lifecycle and produce effectively at scale. The team defines the what, when, why, and how of manufacturing across new product development, new product introduction, and manufacturing operations. The role develops, expands, and rolls out the MDP across multiple product lines. It matures the existing business process, identifies and closes process gaps with cross-functional stakeholders, and creates and deploys resources, templates, and tools that support implementation by Manufacturing Engineering teams. The role also integrates MDP into the Manufacturing Engineering way of working. The successful candidate combines business and technical acumen with a strong understanding of product lifecycle and concurrent engineering principles.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing operations, design engineering, business process development, change management, project management, program management, or engineering transformation.
  • At least 2 years of experience using web-based programs and platforms such as Lucidchart, Airtable, and GitHub, or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to integrate process flows and structured data into a centralized, GitHub-hosted documentation hub.
  • At least 8 years of overall experience in relevant domains.
  • Understanding of the product lifecycle, including design, development, and production phases and their importance to manufacturing readiness.
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of hardware engineering and manufacturing domains.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across levels and disciplines, from individual contributors to senior leadership and across functions such as Program Management, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering.
  • Ability to combine detail-oriented strategic thinking with a scrappy approach to moving quickly.
  • Process-oriented mindset and focus on business impact.
  • Desire to learn new things and willingness to jump in.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading organizational change.
  • Experience translating technical requirements into business needs.
  • Experience taking new products and/or production systems from development to full-scale production.
  • Deep knowledge of co-design, engineering, and manufacturing phases of the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce the MDP framework to stakeholders at all levels, from individual contributors to vice presidents.
  • Socialize the business process and its resources with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Program Management, Configuration Management, and Quality.
  • Partner with MDP Project Managers to understand team pain points, process gaps, and opportunities for improvement; update and expand the process and pilot solutions.
  • Develop and maintain MDP metrics, integrating process tools with data collection and visualization dashboards.
  • Consolidate data sources and deliverables into a centralized resource for Manufacturing Engineering teams to reduce duplicated work and address multiple needs with a single solution.
  • Communicate the importance of MDP and its contribution to production success to technical and non-technical stakeholders, using communication strategies suited to their interests.
  • Balance standardization and flexibility when formalizing MDP as a Standard Operating Procedure that can be customized for individual product lines.
  • Articulate manufacturing readiness to cross-functional audiences and provide technical teams with resources to communicate manufacturing risk to non-technical decision-makers.
  • Use engineering and production information to highlight risks and escalate them to leadership.
  • Tailor MDP implementation to product complexity, timeline severity, and cross-functional team dynamics.
  • Create flexible implementation strategies for commercial and federal contracts.
  • Align MDP with internal and external frameworks and standards, including DoW frameworks, Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRLs), AS9100, and AS6500.
  • Champion Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Operations initiatives across teams and sites, from pilot programs to enterprise-wide rollout.
  • Create tactical resources such as templates, job guides, burndown checklists, and process flowcharts to make processes interpretable and actionable.
  • Build relationships and influence change across organizations, functions, and programs.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and program managers to understand their pain points, needs, and workflows.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees, including a comprehensive, competitive benefits package available at little to no cost to employees.
