Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible administrative management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in budget development and financial planning
  • Demonstrated experience in grants and contracts administration
  • Demonstrated experience in personnel supervision and workforce management
  • Demonstrated experience in space and facilities planning in a complex organization

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration, Accounting, or a closely related field (may substitute for two years of required experience)
  • Experience in an academic health sciences or higher‑education environment
  • Experience supervising managers or directors with independent functional responsibility
  • Demonstrated success partnering with faculty and senior leadership on strategic initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic administrative leadership by directing and coordinating the formulation, interpretation, and administration of short‑ and long‑range policies, procedures, and business programs aligned with School and University objectives.
  • Lead comprehensive financial and budget management, including analyzing program plans, projecting funding levels from multiple sources, determining fiscal requirements, preparing and monitoring departmental budgets, and ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Oversee operational and facilities management, coordinating personnel staffing levels, space utilization, facilities planning, purchasing, construction, renovation, and property management to ensure effective and efficient departmental operations.
  • Supervise and develop staff and managers, including direct supervision of divisional business or administrative managers/directors; manage personnel activities related to training, equal employment, compensation, and workforce planning; and advise on faculty employment terms and appointment processes as appropriate.
  • Serve as a key liaison and representative for the School, maintaining strong relationships with all levels of University administration, faculty, and external organizations; representing School leadership in meetings and administrative forums; and facilitating problem resolution across functional areas.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial and operational reports and analyses, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and providing actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
