About The Position

The Senior Business Consultant of Enterprise Client & Information Delivery (EC&ID) will support the establishment of an operational enterprise customer information (ECIF) and Information Delivery Platform (IDP) across BMO Financial group. This role is crucial for enabling an integrated enterprise customer experience across channels and lines of business (LOBs). Key functions include consistent customer data collection, direct linkages of product systems to the CIF platform, daily customer information delivery to analytical data marts, and support for the Party Model logic & governance. The role involves facilitating data clean-up, customer matching across all LOBs, and defining enterprise standards for data quality in partnership with the Chief Data Governance Program office and Data Risk Directive. This position will also determine key performance indicators and data quality metrics, review data quality reports, and formulate remediation plans. The Senior Business Consultant will consult and make recommendations for the ECIF and IDP roadmaps, participate in strategic and tactical Data Governance and CIF plans, and support the delivery of initiatives requiring technology solutions. Collaboration with stakeholders, including senior management, to define business objectives, processes, and requirements is essential. The role ensures recommendations are business and technically sound, and that long-range operations are effective and efficient. It involves determining the best approach for requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, and prioritization, and directing project staff and activities to ensure coordination of work and resources. The Senior Business Consultant also ensures stakeholder engagement and facilitates communication between IT and business teams.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of related experience and education
  • Solid business knowledge of the Finance/Banking industry
  • Comprehensive practical and theoretical knowledge in the areas of Customer Information sufficient to be considered the internal subject matter expert
  • Influential skills sufficient to resolve situations where others need to be convinced of the value of preferred options or alternatives
  • Experience in large data management and environments
  • Experience leading and managing small teams
  • Well-developed presentation / analytical skills sufficient to provide detailed explanation and interpretation of factual and conceptual information and ideas, and creatively and precisely articulate ideas that involve interpretation, analysis and assessment
  • Developed management skills sufficient to lead / motivate and be able to function within a matrix management environment
  • Project planning and management skills sufficient to establish, prioritize and coordinate objectives for a variety of non-routine assignments or projects

Responsibilities

  • Support the establishment of an operational enterprise customer information (ECIF) and Information Delivery Platform (IDP) across BMO Financial group.
  • Ensure consistent customer data collection across channels (e.g., name, address, household, connections, channel preferences/permissions).
  • Facilitate direct linkages of product systems to the CIF platform.
  • Ensure daily customer information is delivered to analytical data marts for business use in insights, analytics, and reporting.
  • Support the establishment of Party Model logic & governance, including facilitating data clean-up and customer matching across all lines of businesses.
  • Facilitate the development of an integrated view of data requirements for the Customer domain in partnership with Data Owners and Data Stakeholders.
  • Define enterprise standards for data quality with the Chief Data Governance Program office and Data Risk Directive.
  • Determine key performance indicators and data quality metrics.
  • Review data quality reports with Data Owners and Data Stakeholders to understand root causes of quality deficiencies and formulate appropriate remediation plans.
  • Consult and make recommendations, and support the development of the ECIF and IDP roadmaps.
  • Participate in the development of strategic and tactical Data Governance and CIF plans.
  • Support the delivery of Customer Information & IDP initiatives that require technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including senior management, to define business objectives, processes, and requirements.
  • Ensure recommendations are business and technically correct and that the long-range operations of initiatives are effective and efficient.
  • Determine the best approach for eliciting, analyzing, validating, and prioritizing requirements.
  • Direct and coordinate requirements project staff and activities.
  • Ensure all necessary stakeholders are engaged in communications between the Information Technology (IT) project team and the business.
  • Provide coaching, professional guidance, and support to Business Analysts.
