About The Position

The State of Arizona is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to serve as the primary liaison between the IT department and business units. The role gathers and documents business requirements, analyzes and improves business processes, supports application development, and coordinates testing and implementation activities for large, complex projects. The position supports key business processes and applications, provides functional guidance to developers, and coordinates the work of multiple Business Analysts on complex projects.

This is a 6-month assignment from the projected start date, based onsite at 800 W. Washington St., Phoenix, Arizona. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for 40 hours per week. Local Phoenix candidates only.

Requirements

• Strong experience in requirement gathering.
• Business requirements analysis and documentation.
• Ability to translate requirements into functional specifications and use cases.
• Experience with system testing, test plans, test scripts, and test cases.
• Business process analysis and improvement skills.
• Stakeholder communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to coordinate with developers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between IT and multiple business units.
• Support key business processes and applications and recommend process improvements.
• Gather and document requirements for large, complex projects.
• Translate business requirements into functional documents and use cases.
• Provide functional guidance to developers during design and development.
• Develop and execute system test plans, test conditions, scripts, and cases.
• Apply project management methods, tools, and processes to maintain business systems standards.
• Prepare and deliver project status updates and presentations to stakeholders.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of multiple Business Analysts on complex projects.
