The Senior Business Analyst will provide business consultative services, understanding both business and technical needs to deliver quality products or processes that meet business objectives. They will examine costs, benefits, and risks, recommend solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to define and document business objectives and requirements using analytical thinking. The role requires a proficient understanding of business strategy and planning principles, applying them to project work. The analyst will develop project charters and plans, manage work assignments, and apply systems engineering methodologies throughout the project lifecycle. They will perform data analysis, define and document business requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and validate systems. This position will also assist project leaders in coordinating deliverable deployment and manage projects of mid-level complexity, potentially supporting surgical services. Strong analytical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills are essential, including the ability to build rapport, understand needs, resolve conflicts, solve problems, and drive consensus. The role involves partnering with stakeholders to develop a solid understanding of business needs. Visa sponsorship is not available, and Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 6 years’ experience in business analysis, health administration, business administration, engineering, information science, health or science related field.

Responsibilities
- Provides business consultative services at a local, institutional or enterprise level from any Mayo entity requesting assistance.
- Understands and considers both the business and the technical needs of all customers with the goal of providing a quality product or process that meets the business objectives.
- Examines costs, benefits and risks associated with the proposed investment/project and recommends alternatives for solutions throughout the business life cycle.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and users to synthesize, articulate and document business objectives and requirements by applying system and analytical thinking methodology and discipline.
- Proficient understanding of business strategy and business planning principles and applies to project work (areas may include but not limited to: value proposition, mission/strategy, goals/objectives, technology assessments, funding, management/administration, etc.).
- Develops detailed project charter and plans, work assignments, target dates, and other aspects of assigned projects.
- Applies systems engineering methodologies and discipline throughout the project lifecycle.
- Performs data analysis and defines and documents business requirements and translate to functional specification early in the development cycle, concluding with design synthesis and system validation while considering the complete system.
- Assist project leaders in coordinating deployment of deliverables.
- Manages projects of mid-level complexity, which may include sub components of larger scale projects as directed by project leaders.
- This position will support surgical services.
