Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant analytics, business intelligence, merchandising, or retail experience.
  • Strong SQL skills and demonstrated experience querying and analyzing large datasets.
  • Experience working with relational databases or cloud data warehouses.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity.
  • Ability to recognize trends, correlations, anomalies, and data quality issues.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to translate business questions into analytical approaches and actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to business stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Supply Chain, or another quantitative/analytical field, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Retail or e-commerce experience.
  • Experience supporting Merchandising or Merchandise Planning organizations.
  • Understanding of retail concepts such as sales, margin, inventory, sell-through, assortment, pricing, promotions, and product/category performance.
  • Experience with merchandise planning, demand planning, forecasting, or inventory analytics.
  • Experience analyzing pricing or promotional performance.
  • Experience working with product hierarchies and SKU-level data.
  • Experience with BigQuery, MicroStrategy, or Python.
  • Advanced degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Use advanced SQL to extract, manipulate, validate, and analyze large and complex retail datasets.
  • Analyze sales, demand, inventory, product, category, pricing, and promotional performance.
  • Provide ad hoc strategic and tactical analysis to Merchandising and Planning teams.
  • Identify trends and opportunities across categories, brands, products, and customer segments.
  • Support merchandise planning, forecasting, assortment, and performance measurement.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of pricing and promotional strategies.
  • Develop and maintain merchandising KPIs, dashboards, and recurring reporting.
  • Support business cases for merchandising initiatives and strategic decisions.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Planning, Finance, Analytics, Data Engineering, and Technology teams to translate business questions into analytical solutions.
  • Understand data pipelines and transformations sufficiently to identify data quality issues and analytical caveats.
  • Investigate discrepancies across sales, inventory, product, and financial reporting.
  • Clearly communicate analytical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
