About The Position

EcoFleet, in joint venture with LAZ Parking, operates the maintenance division supporting the consolidated bussing services contract at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). This division supports a fleet of approximately 195 transit buses, cutaways, and support vehicles across CNG, diesel, gasoline, and EV platforms. Requirements

  • ASE certifications: two or more of H-series (Transit Bus) or T-series (Medium/Heavy Truck) required; A4–A7 a plus.
  • Class B CDL with passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain within 90 days – company paid) to move and road-test buses.
  • Evidence of a safety-first attitude; ability to follow lockout/tagout and HV safety procedures.
  • Proficiency in fundamental computer skills (web, Excel, Word).
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license; must pass a federal background check and DFW airport badging requirements.
  • 5+ years of heavy/medium-duty fleet or transit technician experience (or 3+ years with ASE Master).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE Master (H or T) preferred.
  • EV high-voltage and/or hybrid powertrain experience preferred.
  • CNG fuel system certification (CSA/NGV) strongly preferred.
  • Cummins ISB engine and Allison transmission diagnostic experience preferred.
  • Fleetio, Samsara, or comparable shop software preferred.
  • Trade school training a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repair of diesel, CNG, gasoline, and EV powertrains, air brake systems, suspensions, HVAC, aftertreatment/exhaust, and multiplexed electrical systems.
  • Lead root-cause repair on repeat failures (e.g., coolant leaks, no-starts, alarm conditions) so buses return to service fixed, not patched.
  • Perform and quality-check DOT/TxDMV inspections and PM inspections (PMA/PMI cycles) to LAZ/EcoFleet and airport standards.
  • Operate vehicle lifts, tire changing and balancing equipment, and shop tools safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize a company-supplied laptop and Fleetio VMS for diagnostics, service writing, work-order documentation, and online training; document all repairs accurately and on time.
  • Mentor B- and C-level technicians; collaborate with team members to maximize repair efficiency and quality.
  • Provide direct feedback to management to improve repair procedures; attend meetings with internal management and airport stakeholders as requested.
  • Work with parts staff and local suppliers to obtain parts, up to and including picking up parts when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment; ensure cleanliness of vehicles during service; respond promptly to road-call support requests.
  • Execute duties with adaptability to changing circumstances including emergencies, workload fluctuations, urgent tasks, and new technology.
