About The Position

The Technology & Infrastructure (T & I) team is the backbone and the future forward arm of CBC/Radio-Canada, responsible for developing the next-generation public broadcaster. This role involves supporting studio, content creation, and presentation groups with technical issues and implementing groundbreaking technologies. The position impacts CBC/Radio Canada across the country by contributing to the virtualization of services, implementation of video-over-IP, and the introduction of centralized and automated workflows. The daily work involves hands-on knowledge, expertise, and problem-solving skills to address client issues with content creation, backend systems, studios, and control rooms, ensuring content is prepared, scheduled, and available on air or digitally.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Broadcast, or a related field.
  • General understanding and knowledge of computers, networking, IP infrastructure, and maintenance of equipment, systems, and relevant software technologies.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server Systems, MacOS, and Linux.
  • Skilled at communicating effectively with internal partners, relaying opinions with sensitivity.
  • Ability to listen and understand perspectives.
  • Ability to expertly analyze and synthesize information and document technical specifications.
  • Ability to work in a stressful and demanding environment of a production centre.
  • Ability to carry out duties effectively under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Support the studio, content creation, and presentation groups with technical issues.
  • Help implement groundbreaking technologies across sites.
