About The Position

WovenWorks is seeking a Senior Brand Strategist who is a strategic thinker, cultural observer, and innovation driver. This role operates in a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative environment. The strategist will deeply understand clients' businesses, categories, brands, products, services, and target audiences to develop breakthrough brand and packaging strategies that drive meaningful change. The role involves guiding teams and clients to understand not just what to do, but why it matters and what the next steps should be. This position reports to the Associate Brand Strategy Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field
  • 4–7 years of experience within branding, design, strategy, or innovation, ideally within an agency or CPG environment
  • Experience across categories (CPG preferred, but not required)
  • Naturally curious thinker, driven to understand the “why” behind human behavior, culture, and brand decisions
  • Ability to turn research, data, and trends into clear insights and actionable strategy
  • Ability to bring structure to ambiguity and connect dots across category, consumer, and culture to define meaningful opportunities
  • Strong foundation in brand strategy
  • Comfortable contributing to innovation work
  • Energized by emerging trends
  • Balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach
  • Able to lead while also rolling up your sleeves to build the work
  • Communicate ideas clearly and persuasively, guiding teams and influencing clients

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to brand strategy, insights, and innovation work across client engagements
  • Conduct and synthesize category and landscape assessments (including retail and competitive audits)
  • Conduct and synthesize insights identification, data mining, and strategic analysis
  • Conduct and synthesize consumer trend identification and translation into actionable opportunities
  • Develop core strategic outputs, including Brand Charter Creation (Promise & Positioning Elements)
  • Develop core strategic outputs, including Naming & Verbal Strategy (general creative writing a plus)
  • Develop core strategic outputs, including Brand Architecture
  • Translate brand strategy into actionable design direction, defining the semiotic principles, territories, and guardrails that inform creative development
  • Contribute to product innovation efforts, including ideation, concept development, and storytelling
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify new opportunities and elevate the strategic impact of ongoing work
  • Act as a strong storyteller able to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively through compelling presentations and narratives
  • Contribute to Qualitative Research studies, including screeners, discussion groups, and analysis
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite
