Within the assigned service area, this role provides Planned Maintenance (PM), safety testing, repairs, calibration, installation, and routine and emergency service for general and specialized diagnostic, therapeutic, and support medical equipment. This includes equipment such as anesthesia machines, sterilizers, ventilators, ultrasound, laser, and laboratory equipment, as assigned by the Clinical Engineering (CE) Manager. The position requires maintaining a working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, and adhering to Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program and Standards of Conduct. Responsibilities include performing PM procedures using manufacturer recommendations and industry standards, diagnosing and repairing specialized equipment, documenting all activities, and determining the need for replacement parts and supplies. The technician will interact with clinical staff to resolve operational problems, promote teamwork, and continually improve processes. They will have the authority to order parts and supplies for emergency services and recommend test equipment. The role also involves providing on-call service coverage, assisting and training junior technicians, and potentially serving as a Lead Bio-Medical Equipment Technician. Travel to various Trinity Health locations may be required.
