Senior BI Reporting Analyst, TSE Data & Insights
About The Position
The Senior BI Reporting Analyst develops and fulfills reporting needs for the Technology Strategy Enablement (TSE) organization. The role collaborates with Product owners and teams to understand information requirements, then creates new or modifies existing BI reports to meet those needs. Candidates should have strong data visualization skills, experience developing complex reports using data from multiple sources, and a passion for telling stories with data. The analyst contributes to reporting standards and dashboard design practices, translates business questions into actionable analytics, and advises stakeholders on metrics and data interpretation. The role also analyzes complex datasets; designs, develops, maintains, and optimizes data pipelines, semantic models, dashboards, and reports across Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric; and provides technical support and resolves data-quality and reporting issues. The analyst independently leads scoped projects and manages reporting initiatives while contributing to broader cross-functional analytics work.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a technology or business field, or equivalent experience or certifications.
- Five years of overall experience in data analytics or a related field.
- Three years of experience developing, testing, implementing, and administering sophisticated reports and dashboards using Tableau.
- Three years of experience developing, testing, implementing, and administering sophisticated reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Three years of experience querying and manipulating large quantities of data using SQL.
- Three years of experience storytelling with data to provide effective visualizations and actionable insights for decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of experience in data modeling and ETL development and processing.
- Experience leading data strategy engagements and guiding and advising senior leaders.
- Experience working with Jira data.
- Programming experience in DAX or Python.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or Fabric.
- Experience working with a Snowflake data warehouse.
- Familiarity with project and product management methodologies within SAFe.
- Familiarity with AI modeling, prompt writing, and Copilot in Fabric.
- Agile experience.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of TSE reporting standards, dashboard design practices, and visualization methodologies.
- Partner with TSE Product Owners, Product Managers, and stakeholders to identify reporting needs and translate business questions into analytics solutions.
- Gather, clarify, and document business requirements for metrics, KPIs, dashboards, and report design.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, data definitions, wireframes, and AI-enabled reporting inputs.
- Advise stakeholders on metric design, data interpretation, and reporting best practices.
- Maintain and update backlog items, user stories, and related documentation to reflect priorities, scope, and delivery progress.
- Present prototypes, dashboards, and completed reporting solutions to stakeholders to gather feedback, validate requirements, and drive adoption.
- Analyze large and complex datasets using Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric to identify trends, relationships, risks, and opportunities.
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, semantic models, dashboards, and reports across Tableau, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric, using multiple data sources, complex queries, stored procedures, and automation capabilities.
- Monitor report and dashboard effectiveness and refine outputs to improve usability, accuracy, and business value.
- Optimize BI report and dashboard performance to improve speed, reliability, and user experience.
- Provide technical support and resolve issues with existing reports, dashboards, and analytics tools.
- Investigate data-quality issues, reporting defects, and discrepancies; determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Independently lead projects involving multiple components within a domain or a finite scope within multi-domain projects.
- Manage reporting initiatives while contributing to larger cross-functional analytics projects and priorities.
