About The Position

The Senior Banquet Manager supports the Banquet Leadership team in overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and delivering exceptional event experiences. This role is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of service, ensuring seamless event execution, and fostering a professional, team-oriented environment. The Senior Banquet Manager is expected to consistently demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and leadership. In a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, this role requires maintaining composure, sound judgment, and a calm, solutions-oriented approach at all times. This position plays a key role in mentoring and developing both Front of House and Back of House teams through training, support, and leading by example. The Senior Banquet Manager is responsible for fostering a respectful, inclusive, and equitable workplace, with zero tolerance for harassment or inappropriate conduct. A strong commitment to professionalism, integrity, and leadership is essential to ensuring operational success, team development, and an exceptional guest experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of banquet experience in a high-volume, high-end hospitality or event environment
  • Strong knowledge of luxury banquet operations, catering, and service standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic database systems
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, and leadership
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and develop hourly staff, including hiring, scheduling, performance management, and conflict resolution
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remain flexible and composed in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and administrative capabilities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, including large groups
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and supervise banquet staff to ensure optimal performance and service standards
  • Lead daily pre-shift meetings with BOH & FOH staff
  • Foster a professional, team-oriented work environment
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management
  • Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented culture while upholding company core values
  • Work closely with the culinary, sales, operations, and purchasing departments to coordinate events seamlessly
  • Oversee the execution of banquet events from setup through completion
  • Ensure all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) are executed accurately and efficiently
  • Collaborate with culinary and support teams to deliver a seamless guest experience
  • Maintain the highest standards of food, beverage, and service quality
  • Ensure service consistently meets or exceeds guest expectations
  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally
  • Build and maintain relationships with repeat and VIP guests
  • Anticipate guest needs and resolve issues promptly and professionally
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels for all events
  • Collaborate with Service Managers and Clients throughout service to address and communicate any service-related concerns
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and functionality of banquet and shared spaces
  • Monitor banquet inventory and supplies
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee Front of House (FOH), Back of House (BOH), and public areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and functionality
  • Ensure team accountability for completing daily maintenance checklists
  • Identify, report, and follow up on maintenance issues to ensure timely resolution
  • Review BEOs, sales contracts, floor plans for accuracy
  • Assist with payroll & scheduling daily & weekly
  • Participate in regular management and operational meetings
  • Perform opening, closing and specific Banquet shift responsibilities as required
  • Address employee performance concerns by adhering to established procedures for progressive discipline and counseling
