About the position
This job is for a software engineer with at least 6+ years of experience in software engineering. The role involves building new services, designing scalable systems, and articulating a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems. The ideal candidate is passionate about building an open financial system and has experience with blockchain technology. Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with rapid company growth, A/B testing frameworks, and decomposing large monoliths into microservices. Responsibilities
- Build new services to meet critical product and business needs using Node.JS
- Design scalable systems to solve novel problems with modern cloud technology and industry best practices
- Articulate a long term vision for maintaining and scaling our backend systems and the teams running them
- Work with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn our product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter
- Write high quality, well-tested code to meet the needs of your customers
Requirements
- At least 6+ years of experience in software engineering
- Experience in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services
- Knowledge of service-oriented architecture
- Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code
- Passion for building an open financial system
- Nice to have: Experience with rapid company growth
- Nice to have: Experience with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks
- Nice to have: Experience with Blockchain technology (Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.)
- Nice to have: Experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices
- Nice to have: Experience with AWS, Web3.js, NodeJS, Postgres, MongoDB
- Nice to have: Experience building financial, high reliability, or security systems
