About The Position

Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, is a small satellite company focused on national security space missions, including missile warning and Earth observation. The Senior Spacecraft Command and Data Handling (C&DH) Engineer serves as a primary technical authority for electrical hardware and avionics architectures used in the company’s space vehicles. The role drives vehicle architecture design to meet mission requirements while balancing performance, manufacturability, and cost, and requires autonomy, responsibility, and clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders. The team is hiring at Levels 4–5. Level 4 emphasizes technical leadership for specific programs or portfolios, including subject-matter expertise, complex design work, trade studies, and oversight during integration and testing. Level 5 emphasizes technical strategy and organizational impact across multiple programs, including engineering best practices, long-term technical roadmaps, and mentoring. The position is based at a facility requiring special access. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and eligible and willing to apply for and maintain a security clearance. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance is required post-start. The role must also meet U.S. export-control requirements. The employer will not sponsor employment visas. The position is not contingent on a program award and is not safety-sensitive. Successful candidates must satisfy the company’s Conflict of Interest assessment process. Post-offer applicants and employees may be subject to drug and alcohol testing under company policy. The company offers competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Eligible employees may enroll in benefit programs that generally include health insurance, flexible spending and health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid and unpaid time away from work. Program availability depends on eligibility factors. Relocation assistance is not negotiable for this position.
