About The Position

Etsy is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and analytical Senior Audience Strategy Manager to help craft and lead Etsy’s audience strategy for marketing! As a high-impact Individual Contributor, you will act as the critical connective tissue between our Brand Strategy, Performance Marketing, and Audience Operations teams. The ideal candidate brings an outstanding blend of critical thinking, strategic vision, and hands-on execution. Demonstrating the ability to learn quick and proactively dive into data, navigate ambiguity, and get results; this role is about going from zero to one and architecting a new vision and direction for our marketing team. Execution involves relying on influence to gain consensus from high-level leadership and drive cross-functional alignment across marketing, analytics, and product & engineering. Managing responsibility for translating high-level brand insights into tactical, addressable audience definitions, repairing foundational tech debt, leading our Data Cleanroom strategy, and ensuring Etsy shows up consistently for our buyers across all platforms. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Performance Media. This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. The Brand Marketing team helps buyers discover what makes Etsy special, fueling Etsy’s growth via audience-centric storytelling and media placements, bringing the right message to the right audience, at the right moment. We collaborate closely with teams in Analytics, Product, and Engineering in order to automate and optimize global offsite experiences and programs at scale.

Requirements

  • 6-8+ years of experience in digital marketing, audience strategy, marketing analytics, within a fast-paced brand, agency, or tech environment.
  • Basic understanding and experience building strategies for Data Cleanrooms (e.g., Google Ads Data Hub, LiveRamp, etc.) to enable privacy-centric audience sharing and measurement.
  • Proven hands-on analytical skills with proficiency in SQL (required) for data querying, interrogation, and analysis.
  • Expertise in digital marketing ecosystems, identity resolution, CDP architecture, and audience activation tools.
  • Interpret outputs from datasets and marketing technology platforms informing strategic business decisions.
  • Highly autonomous and proactive. Thrive in ambiguity, learn quickly, and do not wait for direction to start solving problems.
  • Consistent record of building internal relationships, driving XFN alignment, and influencing senior partners (Directors, VPs) as an individual contributor.
  • Seamlessly pivot between high-level executive storytelling and deep, in-the-weeds technical data problem-solving.
  • Track record of pushing through obstacles to deliver measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Translate high-level brand strategy and insights into an actionable audience strategy.
  • Bridge the gap between brand objectives and tactical digital marketing execution, ensuring strategies are implemented effectively.
  • Apply SQL and analytical skills to dig into customer, market, and behavioral data.
  • Synthesize data points into actionable insights that shape audience segmentation, targeting parameters, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Lead the exploration, implementation, and utilization of Data Cleanrooms.
  • Partner with analytics and marketing technology teams to harness cleanroom environments for secure 1P/3P data collaboration, measurement, and enriched audience insights without compromising user privacy.
  • Drive alignment across Media, Performance, Analytics, Brand, and Engineering teams without relying on direct authority.
  • Confidently manage relationships with senior leadership, communicating audience insights and strategies.
  • Establish and champion a cohesive audience framework for the marketing organization and broader company at large.
  • Define success metrics, set learning agendas, and embed measurement into activation workflows optimizing our digital marketing efforts.
